Amazing Love

Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. (1 John 3:1)

Have you ever felt that God is ready to give up on you because you have stumbled and fallen? Do you ever fear that you have hit the limit of God's tolerance for your failure and you are out of His grace? I have met a lot of Christians like that. They that think that God is upset with them, and the He has already given up on them because of their daily performance is less than perfect.

It's true that the walk of faith can sometimes be interrupted by moments of personal unbelief or rebellion, or even satanic deception. It's during those moments when we think that God has surely lost His patience with us and is ready to give up on us. The temptation is to give up, stop walking by faith altogether, slump dejectedly by the side of the road, and wonder, "What's the use?"

The primary truth you need to know about God in order for your faith to remain strong is that His love and acceptance is unconditional. When your walk of faith is strong, God loves you. When your walk of faith is weak, God loves you. Whether you're strong one moment or weak the next, God still loves you. God's love for you is the great eternal constant in the midst of all the inconsistencies of your daily walk.

The apostle John wrote: "I write this to you so that you will not sin" (1 John 2:1, NIV). Of course God wants us to live right, but He has also made provision for our failure so His love continues to be constant in spite of what we do: "And if anybody sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world" (2:1-2).

An article in National Geographic several years ago provided a penetrating picture of God's love. After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick. When he struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. When the blaze had arrived and the heat had scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast. Because she had been willing to die, those under the cover of her wings could live.

The Importance of Fellowship

Hi Guys! Just want to remind all of us about The Importance of Fellowship.

From Getting Started BS, we learnt that having regular fellowship with other fellow Christians is one of the 5 habits that a disciple should have. "Habit" means "An established disposition of the character". It should be in our DNA traits that we would always fellowship and enjoy the presence of each other.

Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see the Day of the Lord is coming near.

WHY IS FELLOWSHIP SO IMPORTANT?

1. I BELONG in God's family with other believers.

... You are members of God's very own family, citizens of God's country, and you belong in God's household with every other Christian.

2. I need ENCOURAGEMENT to grow spiritually.

3. I need ACCOUNTABILITY to grow spiritually.

There is tremendous emphasis in the New Testament of that coming together in fellowship to minister and encourage one another. There is no such thing as a "Lone Ranger" Christian in the Bible.

The Ten Trials

Remember! Do not forget how you provoked the LORD your God to wrath in the wilderness. From the day that you departed from the land of Egypt until you came to this place, you have been rebellious against the LORD. Deuteronomy 9:7

There were 10 trials in the wilderness, and the Israelites failed them all. After they failed the 10th test at Kadesh Barnea, the Lord said, “They have put Me to the test now these ten times, and have not heeded My voice” (Num. 14:22). Here are the 10 tests:

(1) Murmuring against God. The Israelites accused God of deceiving them into a trap so that the Egyptians could kill them. There is always a tendency to blame God in the midst of crises.

(2) Bitter water at Marah. The Israelites murmured at the bitter water. Every believer will be tried by bitter experiences and disappointments.

(3) Hunger. This represents economic times of testing. We will all experience times of shortages and lack during which our faith in God will be tested. Our faith in God will then be tested.

(4) Gluttony. By taking more manna than they needed for the day, the Israelites willfully disobeyed the Lord.

(5) Thirst at Rephidim. Thirst speaks of dry and boring experiences. The Israelites murmured again.

(6) Idolatry of the gold calf. Inordinate desires and lusts must be conquered. Anything that replaces our reliance upon God is idolatry.

(7) Complaining about misfortunes at Taberah. Complaining about adverse circumstances doesn’t help us to find favor with God.

(8) Unthankfulness. The appetites of the Israelites were not consecrated to God. They detested God’s provision of manna and gorged themselves with quail.

(9) Criticism of leadership. Aaron and Miriam criticized Moses, the man who saw the face of God.

(10) Unbelief at Kadesh Barnea. The Israelites were right at the border of the Promised Land. The 10 spies all agreed that it was a good land, but that the enemies were too great. They infected the whole congregation with fear and unbelief. They had failed the 10th and most important test. Finally, God said, “You will not enter in.” No teacher ever creates a test for the purpose of trying to fail the student. Every test should be a stepping stone for greater glory. Instead, Israel made each of their tests a stumbling block into defeat. The Holy Spirit was always around to show God strong on their behalf whenever they were met by difficulties. But they didn’t lean on Him. Let’s remember the Scriptural exhortation: “Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion” (Heb. 3:15).

Bottom line:
Guys, we will all go through "valleys" in our lives in which our faith in God will be tested. When you go through crisis in your life, bitter experiences and disappointments or even "dryness" in your walk with God, don't blame God and turn away from Him. Stop complaining about your situations and start to lean on the Holy Spirit and He will show God strong on our behalf!(: We will definately walk through the valleys in our lives! God is with us!(:

Kenny Low

January 2007 — Testimony shared by Kenny Low in City Harvest Church

Hi Church, I’m Kenny and this is my wife Serina. I’m the principal of CHEC and O School. In the last few years, God has been teaching us how to reach out to professional dancers in the entertainment industry.

In 2003, I was involved in a series of outreach concerts in Asia. We engaged Ryan Tan to be the dance director and choreographer for those events. Ryan is a very experienced and well respected dancer in the entertainment scene. I remembered the first concert we did in Hong Kong. I saw Ryan sitting by the side of the hall looking grumpy, with his jacket hood covering his face. While, hundreds of people were touched by Pastor’s preaching, he was completely disinterested with God and the church. Yet, I felt in my heart that somehow, the Lord will someday touch him.

Throughout the 8-month long tour, I shared the same hotel room with Ryan. As much as I was eager to lead him to Christ, I purposed in my heart not to preach to him immediately. I felt that he will be hearing enough preaching and altar calls through the 50-over gospel events that we were doing. Like what we’ve learnt in the Caring System, I began by befriending him and showing interest in his life. I read the comics that he read, listened to the songs that he listened to, attended his dance classes when we were back in Singapore, and even helped him out in his business by introducing more students to him. As we spent time together, Ryan began to open up and shared with me more about his life.

Serina:
After working with him for a year, Kenny and Ryan had become very close friends. At our last stopover in Australia , when Pastor Kong was giving the altar call, Ryan lifted up his hands to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He had even told Kenny that he was prepared to get saved in the meeting and that he actually went to buy a Bible before the meeting itself! After he said the sinner’s prayer, Ryan had tears flowing down his cheeks. We saw a different Ryan from the one that Kenny had seen originally in Hong Kong eight months earlier. God had truly touched his life. He is genuinely converted and was water baptized two months later in the river Jordan during our Israel tour. The moment he got out of the water, he was powerfully filled with the Holy Spirit.

The miracle did not stop there. After Ryan became a Christian, he began to help us with the Easter production. He brought in one of his students Carol as a dancing assistant. By that time, Ryan had become more on fire for the Lord. He was actively reaching out to his other friends about how Jesus has changed him. It was in the backroom at the Singapore Indoor Stadium where Ryan and Kenny first shared their testimonies with Carol and planted a seed of faith in her heart. A few weeks later, the dance ministry staged a dance during a Weekend Connection service. Ryan invited Carol to attend that service. Pastor Kong’s message about “Dreams” touched Carol’s heart and that day, she too gave her heart to Jesus.

Kenny:
Shortly after that, Ryan and Carol invited one other dancer to church. His name was Daniel. During that period of time, Daniel was facing a family crisis at home. Both Ryan and Carol began to share their testimonies on how their lives were changed in this church. They decided to show their care by pooling in their finances to help him out. They knew that Daniel loves to dance. So they asked him to perform during the recording of the 2005 Cross album. Daniel was very impacted during that time because he had never seen so many people so passionate and excited for their God. Soon after, they invited him to watch another dance performance at our Emerge Conference. Daniel was deeply touched by the presence of God and the message. As a result, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior as well. When Daniel was serving his National Service, he was unable to attend cell groups and services regularly. However, the cell group continued to show care by giving him Bible studies during his off days. Six months later, Daniel was fully integrated into the church.

But the love and care didn’t stop there. Ryan, Carol and Daniel began to reach out to more dancers in their circle of influence. So far, they have brought 17 other dancers to church, nine of them have accepted Christ and we are in the midst of integrating them into the church.

Through these very creative and talented individuals who came to City Harvest, the vision for O School was birthed. Today Ryan, Carol and Daniel are full-time instructors in O School. The ministry of O School is unique, we provide employment for young talented dancers, we raised bursaries to help youths finish their schooling, and we are giving them healthy role models in the area of dance. In just nine months, O School had crossed 1,000 in membership, we had done dance programs with 15 institutions, touching more than 900 students interested in dancing, and performed to over 10,000 people. I believe many more lives will be influenced for Christ as we shine for Him among these people.

Serina:
Being the salt and light in the world is not so difficult. It is not hard-selling the gospel or pestering people to become Christians. Sharing the love of God is simply showing care, love and interest in other people’s lives. By doing that, we change the world — one person at a time!

Great In The Kingdom

And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’ But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as theOne who serves.”

God is not against us desiring greatness. Because our God Himself is a great God, every true believer has the seed of greatness implanted in his spirit. We dream dreams and see visions of ourselves achieving significance and purpose in life.

In Luke 22, there was again a dispute among Jesus’ disciples as to which of them should be considered the greatest in the kingdom. Jesus didn’t rebuke them for their aspirations. What He wanted to prevent was their succumbing to pride and selfish ambition. Realizing their striving, Jesus once sat a little child down in the midst of the disciples, saying that in the kingdom, the great are like children—humble, trusting, and teachable (Matt. 18:4). Now that their concern for status surfaced again, Jesus elaborated the principle that the greatest in the kingdom is the servant of all (Luke 22:25-27).

This standard still works today! The greatest in our society are people who serve the sick, the needy and the wounded. These are great because they have given themselves to serve others. Jesus Christ tops the list. He is the greatest of all because He gave Himself for the sins of the world (Phil. 2:1-11).

There is a very practical outworking of this principle of greatness in our everyday world. Those who do serve the most may often become the most famous and prosperous people. But when you do a study on many of them, glory and riches are usually not their motives. Rather, the recognition and esteem of others seem to be the inevitable fruit of their self-giving, childlike service to mankind.

One pastor once said that every Christian is shaped for service, using the word “SHAPE” as an acronym. “S” stands for spiritual gifts. “H” stands for heart’s desire. “A” stands for ability. “P” stands for personality. And “E” stands for experience. When you put them all together and get into “SHAPE,” you should have a good idea
of the ministry that God has set you in so that you may become salt and light to the world.

Power Unlimited

Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high. Luke 24:49

Shortly before His ascension into heaven, Jesus commanded His disciples to stay in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high. The promise of the Father refers to God’s promised gift of the Holy Spirit. Here are four important reasons why we all need the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives:

(1) Power to become. Without God’s power in us, we can never become sons of God. The Holy Spirit’s job is to bring us back to God. John says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12). The word “right” is translated from the Greek word exousia which means “power” or “authority.” With the power of God’s Holy Spirit working in you, you can do what you could never do by yourself. With His authority, you can establish what God desires. You can now live and act like a child of His family.

(2) Power to be. The Holy Spirit’s indwelling means that you have the power for daily living. Even Christians of many years know how difficult it is to keep up with the standards that God wants us to have in our lives. We all have the weakness of our flesh. But the power of the Spirit helps us, “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (Eph. 3:16).

(3) Power to overcome. Every believer lives in a war zone. Satan attacks us with every weapon at his disposal in his attempt to prevent us from following Jesus. God makes His power available within us so that we have the strength and the knowledge to defeat the devil. The Bible says, “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

(4) Power to witness. In Acts 1:8, the Holy Spirit came with great power on Pentecost. The word for “power” here is dunamis, from which we get the English word “dynamite.” Dunamis refers to the miracle-working, sign-producing power of God. God wants your life to be so filled with the power of the Spirit that you will be dynamite.

God wants you to be a witness (Acts 1:8) to the life of Jesus. In the Greek, the word for witness is martus from which we derive the word, “martyr.” A witness has died to self so that Christ might live in and through him or her (Gal. 2:20-21). Become a witness so that you not only speak about Jesus but that you become Jesus to the world.

Don’t Limit Yourself

Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” Numbers 13:30

In Numbers 13, the children of Israel had come to Kadesh Barnea, the border of the with a bad report, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature. There we saw the giants; and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight” (Num. 13:32-33).

There are always “giants” in life. The greater the level you soar, the bigger the devil. Paul says that the life of faith is a good fight (1 Tim. 6:12). It is “good” because when we put our trust in the Lord, we will win at the end of every bout. But still, to win in life, you must be willing to fight.

There is no greater fear than fear itself. There is a difference between the fear of the Lord and phobia. Godly fear is reverence toward God, the desire to please Him and cautiousness not to displease Him in any way. This is a good fear that leads to wisdom and faith.

On the other hand, a phobia is a crippling and horrifying dread. Phobias lead to worry, anxiety and paranoia. Fear of men, circumstances and evil spirits paralyze you from possessing your dream. God says, “Fear not, for I am with you” (Is. 43:5).

Without faith, the children of Israel spiraled downward into widespread panic and hysteria when they heard about the giants in the Promised Land. The first thought that came to their mind was, “Let us select a leader and return to Egypt” (Num. 14:4). Whenever there was trouble, they wanted to go back. They may have gotten out of Egypt, but Egypt had not gotten out of them.

The word “Egypt” in Hebrew means to be hemmed in, or to be limited. The Israelites came out of the harsh bondage of Egypt where their lives, dreams, future and opportunities were severely limited. God broke those shackles of limitations and gave them freedom. But mentally, their thought pattern was still one of doubt and fear. The result? They “limited the Holy One of Israel” (Ps. 78:41). Apart from Joshua and Caleb, that entire generation of doubters didn’t enter the Promised Land.

Faith puts no limit on God, and God puts no limit on faith. Remember, God “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Eph. 3:20). The moment you succeed in breaking a limitation in your mind, there is no question whatsoever that God can follow through and make that thought a reality in your life.

Welcoming The Lost

It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is
alive again, and was lost and is found. Luke 15:32

Jesus was often accused by the Pharisees for being too welcoming with sinners like parable of the lost sheep, (2) the parable of the lost coin, and (3) the parable of the lost son. Jesus doesn’t believe in a “token hunt” for the lost. He doesn’t believe in just walking through the harvest field proclaiming that harvest time has come. Jesus believes in the actual ingathering of the lost.

As the Good Shepherd, Jesus counts the sheep in His flock every day. In church, we count people because people count! Every number represents a life that Christ died for on the cross. Without counting, how would a shepherd know if any of his sheep is missing? A good shepherd would “go after the one which is lost until he finds it”(Luke 15:4). A conscientious woman who has lost a silver coin would “light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it” (Luke 15:8). Soul-winning is too important a task to be left to half-hearted, token efforts.

In the parable of the prodigal son, after feeding swine in the pigsty, the son fi nally came to his senses. He would go home to his father and confess his sins to him. He would then make amends by working as a hired servant. There was true repentance and a desire to make restitution. When the lost son was still a distance from his home, his father saw him. For many months now, dad has been standing by the gate every day, waiting for his son to come home. And when the father met him, he hugged the son, gave him the best robe, put a ring on his fi nger and new sandals on his feet, killed the best calf, and threw him the best party in town. Unfortunately, the elder son didn’t share in the celebration. He was unhappy about the fuss made over the return of his lost brother.

Have you ever wondered what might have happened if the elder brother greeted the prodigal son first at the gate? His holier-than-thou attitude would have forever driven him back to the pigsty! It would have confirmed the negative bias that sinners like him could never start life afresh. Thank God it was the merciful father and not the harsh elder brother who greeted him at the door.

The three parables of Luke 15 tell us this: (1) soul-winning is serious work, (2) soulwinning is dedicated work, and (3) soul-winning is compassionate work. Watch your attitude the next time you meet people who are really “messed up” in life. Your attitude can give them the faith they need to start life afresh, or drive them further away from God. People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.

Making The Difference

"And he stood between the dead and the living; so the plague was stopped."Numbers 16:48

In Numbers 16, 250 Israelite leaders joined Korah, Dathan and Abiram in a rebellion against Moses. They were jealous of Moses’ authority and leadership. They wanted equal rights for all the leaders. Personally, Korah wanted a position and ministry that God had not given him.

There is always a tendency to downgrade the pastor in a church. But while the pastor is an elder, not all elders are pastors. You can’t put Moses on the same level as Korah, and you can’t put Korah on the same level as Moses.

This rebellion was a serious attack, not only against Moses, but against God Himself. The earth then opened up and fire came from heaven to consume the 250 leaders. The next day, the sympathizers of the rebels started murmuring against Moses. They felt that Moses and God were too harsh to Korah and the 250 men. By criticizing them, they were in effect saying that they had more compassion than God.

The Lord immediately spoke to Moses, “Get away from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.” A plague swept through the people and 14,700 men began falling down dead. Aaron quickly took a censer, and with some fire from the altar, ran into the midst of the people and started making atonement for their wrongdoing. He stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped (Num. 16:48-49).

Who was Aaron? He was just one man in the midst of a terrible plague that was killing the multitude. He was an elderly man who was too old to exert himself. He was a man who bore the scars of failure in both ministry and life. Yet, he ran to the altar, caught some fire and stood between the living and the dead. And where he stood, the plague stopped.

This simple story was the rhema that launched our “Church Without Walls” ministry to the poor and needy in 1995. The essence of Christianity is simply loving God and loving people (Matt. 22:36-40). If you are willing to go to God’s altar, catch the fire of compassion, and stand between the living and the dead in your community, you can stop the ravages of sin and death.

Can one man make a difference? Aaron was a man of limited abilities. He was a man marked with many public failures. But when he caught the fire of compassion, he stood between the living and the dead and made the difference. With God’s compassion in your heart, you too can make a difference in your world.

Just to let you all know, there will be a change to the bus route for feeder bus 242 from Jurong Interchange.

Instead of going through JW St 91/92 where our church is located, bus 242 will go through St 71/72 and turn back to the interchange. In replacement, bus 241 will service passengers coming to St 91/92.

hey guys!!!

:D one of the most memorable things for last week was when Pst. Kong mention the e=mc^2 and the way Pst. Cho interpreted it, it was like power = masses of people x consciousness (prayer) the thing that really struck me was that power is actually = energy/time so technically the equation is wrong. HAHAHAHAHAH okay so lame.

okay just kidding. another memorable thing is that the crystals :D I found it extremely fascinating :D it's amazinng how speaking, thinking and believing can influence the outcome of everything. and I really felt that the message really impacted me because I never realized the power of such spiritual principles. so for tomorrow, I am believing... for my exam results!!!! And I pray that all of you... especially the olevel people :P will do your very best and believe in your exam results as well.

and the power of fasting! I cannot emphasize this. originally when I was still new and introduced into the whole fasting thing, I was skeptical... but fasting really works just like Pst. Kong has mentioned that "Fasting must go along with prayer!!!" If you don't fast, how can you expect so many miracles? Yilun shared with me that whenever she fast right, she always experiences revival in our zone and her personal cell groups, but now that she's pregnant, she feels more powerless. As for me... whenever I don't fast for the week, I'll feel empty and every soon something that is well-planned will suddenly go off plan. So I think I'm too afraid not to fast. XD hahaha guys, try to do your very best to fast, and very soon, you'll indeed realize the power that is rained down from Heaven! :D

guys, I just really felt that if the world could apply all of God's principles in their lives to attain success, why is it that we cannot? you see God's word is already there, the promise is there, but all He requires is faith. What is stopping us from believing that we cannot reach 40 strong disciples by the end of this year? What is stopping us from receiving the As in our studies? What is stopping us from believing that our whole family will be saved? What is stopping us from experiencing finanical breakthroughs? It's just there... depending on whether you choose to believe.

so guys... pray pray fast fast believe believe confess confess visualize visualize.

MIRACLE

A little girl went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet. She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes. Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall's Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.

She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment. Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing. She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!

"And what do you want?" the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. "I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages," he said without waiting for a reply to his question.

"Well, I want to talk to you about my brother," Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. "He's really, really sick...and I want to buy a miracle."

"I beg your pardon?" said the pharmacist.

"His name is Andrew, and he has something bad growing inside his head, and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?"

"We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I'm sorry, but I can't help you," the pharmacist said, softening a little.

"Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn't enough, I will get the rest. Just tell me how much it costs."

The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, "What kind of a miracle does your brother need?"

"I don't know," Tess replied with her eyes welling up. I just know he's really sick, and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money."

"How much do you have?" asked the man from Chicago.

"One dollar and eleven cents," Tess answered barely audibly. "And it's all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to."

"Well, what a coincidence," smiled the man. "A dollar and eleven cents--the exact price of a miracle for little brothers."

He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her mitten and said "Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meet your parents. Let's see if I have the miracle you need."

That well dressed man was a surgeon specializing in neurosurgery. The operation was completed free of charge, and it wasn't long until Andrew was home again and doing well.

Mom and Dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.

"That surgery," her Mom whispered. "was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost?"

Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost...one dollar and eleven cents...plus the faith of a little child.

The faith of a mustard seed can move mountains.

Your Dream is not Dead
by Dr. Larry Ollison

Your dream is not dead. It is only sleeping.

Lazarus, a friend of Jesus who lived in Bethany, was sick. When Jesus heard that Lazarus was sick, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God.” Jesus didn’t panic. He didn’t get into fear, and of course, He didn’t worry. But He said, “Lazarus is asleep, but I will go and wake him up.”

Even though Jesus knew that Lazarus had died physically, His mindset was that Lazarus was asleep. But to everyone else, it appeared that Lazarus was dead in the grave and would never live on this earth as a man again. Of course, his sister, Martha, believed that he would be resurrected in the distant future in the resurrection at the last day, but she had no faith that he would live again as her brother.

Then Jesus made a statement that probably seemed strange at the time. He said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.” Martha was caught up in religion and was convinced that Lazarus had already started to decay. Then Jesus said to her, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God?” Then they removed the stone and Jesus said, “Lazarus, come forth!” and he who was dead became alive. They saw the glory of God.

Your dream may appear dead and even your religious friends may tell you that it has already begun to decay. In fact, when you talk about your dream, to some people it may “stinketh.” But God is the God of the living. His plan for your life has not changed. In the same way Jesus spoke to Martha, God is saying to you today, “Did I not say to you that if you would believe, you would see the glory of God?”

Your God-given dream is not dead. It is only sleeping. Apply your faith to your dream and God will resurrect it into new life. It doesn’t matter how things look or what others say. Speak God’s promise into your dead dream, and it will live.

In order for Martha to see the glory of God, she had to add belief to the promise. Do not allow circumstances, people, or presumed defeat to derail you from believing. Believe in your God-given dream and you will see the manifested glory of God.

My child,

You may not know me, but I know everything about you (Psalm 139:1). I know when you sit down and when you rise up (Psalm 139:2). I am familiar with your ways (Psalm 139:3). Even the very hairs on your head are numbered (Matt 10:29-31) for you were made in my image (Genesis 1:27). In me you live and move and have your being (Acts 17:28) for you are my offspring (Acts 17:28).

I knew you even before you were conceived (Jeremiah 1:4-5). I chose you even before I planned creation (Ephesians 1:11-12). You were not a mistake; all your days are written in my book (Psalm 139:15-16). I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live (Acts 17:26). You were fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). I knit you together in you mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and brought you forth on the day you were born (Psalm 71:6).

I have been misrepresented by those who don’t know me (John 8:41-44). I am not distant and angry, but I am the complete expression of love (1 John 4:16), and it is my desire to lavish my love on you (1 John 3:1). I offer you more than your earthly father ever could (Matthew 7:11) for I am the perfect father (Matthew 5:48). Every good gift that you receive comes from my hand (James 1:17) for I am your provider, and I meet all your needs (Matthew 6:31-33)

My plan for your future has always been filled with hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Because I love you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3), my thoughts toward you are as countless as the sand on the seashore (Psalm 139:17-18) and I rejoice over you with singing (Zephaniah 3:17). I will never stop doing good to you (Jeremiah 32:40) for you are my treasured possession (Exodus 19:5). I desire to establish you with all my heart and all my soul (Jeremiah 32:41).

I want to show you great and marvelous things (Jeremiah 33:3). If you seek me with all you heart, you will find me (Deuteronomy 4:29). Delight in me, and I will give you the desires of you heart (Psalm 37:4) for it is I who gave you those desires (Philippians 2:13).

I am able to do more for you than you could possibly imagine (Ephesians 3:20) for I am your greatest encourager (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17). I am also the father who comforts you in all your troubles (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). When you are brokenhearted, I am close to you (Psalm 34:18). As a Shepard carries a lamb, I have carried you close you my heart (Isaiah 40:11).

One day, I will wipe away every tear from your eyes (Revelation 21:3-4), and I’ll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth (Revelation 21:3-4). I am your father, and I love you even as I love my son, Jesus (John 17:26). He is the exact representation of my being (Hebrews 1:3). He came to demonstrate that I am for you, not against you (Romans 8:31) and to tell you that I am not counting your sins (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).

Jesus died so that you could be reconciled (2 Corinthians 5:18-19). His death was the ultimate expression of my love for you (1 John 4:10). I gave up everything I loved so that I might gain your love (Romans 8:31-32). If you receive the gift of my son, Jesus, you receive me (1 John 2:23), and nothing will ever separate you from my love again (Romans 8:38-39).

Come home, and I’ll throw the biggest party heaven has ever seen (Luke 15:7). I have always been your father and will always be your father (Ephesians 3:14-15).

My question is, will you be my child (John 1:1-13)?

I am waiting for you (Luke 15:11-32).

HEY GUYS! [: THIS IS A STORY THAT TOUCHED MY HEART. HOPE IT WILL TOUCH YOURS TOO. [: PAISEH, I KNOW THE STORY ~~A BIT~~ LONG.

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said, "How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?"
The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all that we could, but your boy didn't make it."
Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"
The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes before he's transported to the university."
Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.
"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked.
Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag, and handed it to Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the university for study. He said it might help somebody else. I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom.'
She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could."
Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.
It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:
"Dear Mom,
I know you're going to miss me, but don't think that I will ever forget you or stop loving you just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday, we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.
Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD!
And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter to tell you goodbye and everything. I was sure that wasn't allowed, but you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' God said He was in the same place with me as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.
Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else, this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight, I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great.
Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore.

Never, Never, Never Give Up!

One day I decided to quit…

I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality… I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

'God', I asked, 'Can you give me one good reason not to quit?'

His answer surprised me…

'Look around', He said. 'Do you see the fern and the bamboo?'

'Yes', I replied.

'When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.

I gave them light.

I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth.

Its brilliant green covered the floor.

Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.

And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.

'In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.

But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit.' He said.

'Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant…But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.

It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle.'

He asked me. 'Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots'.

'I would not quit on the bamboo.

I will never quit on you.'

'Don't compare yourself to others.' He said.

'The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.

Yet they both make the forest beautiful.'

'Your time will come', God said to me.

'You will rise high'

'How high should I rise?' I asked.

'How high will the bamboo rise?' He asked in return.

'As high as it can?' I questioned.

'Yes.' He said, 'Give me glory by rising as high as you can.'

I left the forest and brought back this story.

I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

Never, Never, Never Give up.

For the Christian Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.

Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is,

tell the problem how Great the Lord is!

Forgiveness Is The Perfume The

Broken Heart Casts Back Upon

The Foot That Crushed It.

"You must make allowance for each other's faults and forgive the person who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others."

The bitter herb found on the Seder plate, usually foul-smelling horseradish, helps Jews around the world deal with the remembrance of the bitter things that happened before, and during, their flight from Egypt.

One of the most effective weapons hell possesses is bitterness. God has given us the mighty weapon of forgiveness to combat bitterness. Bitterness will wipe the smile from the heart, and siphon passion from someone who desires to serve God, and love His people. It paralyzes the gifts and abilities God placed within us.

In order to experience true happiness, we must overcome any offense Satan brings our way. People will utter unkind words concerning us, hurt us, and even betray us. Yet, we must respond in faith and forgive anyone who wrongs us. Through forgiveness, we can defeat bitterness, conquering it once and for all.

Understanding how much Jesus forgave us is crucial when it comes to us forgiving others. We cannot afford to harbor offense within our hearts. Un-forgiveness leads to sickness and disease within our bodies. We must be quick to follow the words of the apostle Paul, "Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you with all malice; and be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." By following this instruction to forgive, we can walk free from bitterness (and its foul smell) and live tenderhearted, peaceable lives.

Obeying the dietary needs given in God's Word, the Jews served a number of beans and peas, necessary for protein and nourishment. Without proper obedience, those ancient Jews would have walked around undernourished and frail.

Jesus told the story of two boys who were given an instruction. One said he would do it, but he never did. The other say he wouldn't do what he was asked, but shortly afterwards, he felt conviction in his heart and completed the instruction. Even though this boy denied the instruction with his lips, his sense of obedience permeated all the way to his heart. From there, he went to work, and no doubt afterwards he returned to his father to tell him he obeyed.

I believe very strongly in voicing our desire to obey, but I believe even more strongly in putting our obedience into action. If you have become a believer, you have a new heart that really desires to obey. But sometimes, heartfelt obedience is imprisoned by pride, bitterness, and offense. We must go to battle to rescue the obedient heart God has given us. Then, we can get to work with our instructions, both from men and from Heaven. And lastly, we can declare, "I obeyed."

The Most Important Time of My Day

Is it really that important to have a quiet time with the Lord everyday? I mean, the Lord knows how busy my life is, so if I just toss up a few prayers and listen to a Christian song on the radio while rushing off to work, that should suffice, right?

It's easy to let the busyness of life crowd out time for prayer, Bible reading, and sitting with the Lord. There are a million things on all of our to-do lists, time is tight, and quiet moments seem few and far between. But I've learned that if I make the choice to be with the Lord first thing in the morning, my outlook on life that day and my ability to handle things seems to go so much smoother.

Also, I've had to change my mindset on having a quiet time. Spending time with the Lord in the morning doesn't end when I say "amen" and put my Bible back on the shelf. I've just invited the King of Kings to participate in my day. So, I get up from spending time with the Lord in the morning and start eagerly looking for His hand of activity in my life.

I think about the Bible verses I read that morning and look for ways to apply them to my life that very day. I watch the circumstances that come my way hour by hour and ask the Lord to constantly give me wisdom to process life in the way that would be most honoring to Him. My mindset is healthier, my attitude more positive, and my ability to extend grace to those who rub me the wrong way is increased just by setting aside some time to be with the Lord.

If you are struggling with having quiet time with the Lord each day, try these helpful ideas:

Be honest with God and admit your struggle. Ask God to give you the desire to set aside time to be with Him.

Start with just a small amount of time. Even if it is just 5 minutes at first, give this 5 minutes solely to the Lord without any other distractions. Over the next weeks and months, your desire for more time with Him will increase.

Use a version of the Bible that lends itself to study. I use the NIV Life Application Study Bible and I love it. It helps me understand the context each book was written in and gives me commentaries to understand specific verses.

Ask God for understanding as you read the Bible. When I first started reading the Bible I had a hard time, so I started praying that God would open my spiritual eyes to see the truths in a life changing way for me.

Write some of the verses that seem most applicable to your life on 3x5 cards and use them in your prayers. For example, Matthew 6:19-20 says, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth... But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven." So, I could use this verse in my prayer time by praying, "God, help me to know how to store up treasures in Heaven. Help me to relinquish my tight hold on my earthly possessions so I can use them to build your kingdom now. Show me how to best use that which you have blessed me with. Give me your mindset for the money I have."

Get involved in a Bible Study with friends. This will help hold you accountable to getting your study time done and will open up great discussions to deepen everyone's understanding of applying God's truths to everyday life.

Suggested Prayer:

Dear Lord, I want a more vibrant relationship with You and I know having a daily quiet time is an important part of that. Help me make this my most important priority each day, no matter how busy life is. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Application Steps:

If you don't know which book of the Bible to start with, I'd suggest either Matthew or Philippians. These are two of my favorite books that are rich with life application opportunities. You may also want to read a chapter from the Book of Proverbs. There are 31 chapters, one for each day of the month.

You can't be filled with nagging fear, relentless doubt, and abject worry when you constantly meditate upon God's Word. As long as you don't allow negative thoughts to be planted into your mind, growing like weeds in your flower garden, you'll discover peace, joy, and happiness. But the transformation of your life is linked to your commitment to change the way you think.

Facing Fear

This is the one time in Christ's life when we see the slightest hint of fear. Fear by itself is not sin, but the way that we respond to it can become sin. Jesus did not allow His fear of enduring God's wrath to lead Him into sin (1 John 3:5), but He responded the way we all need to respond whenever we face a fearful situation:

He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will." (Matthew 26:39 NKJV)

Jesus does three things here that we need to emulate. First of all, Jesus went a little farther , meaning He separated Himself from Peter, James, and John. When fear hits us, the first thing we need to do is get alone with God. Getting together with others can be a great blessing, but it can also be a distraction from fellowshipping with the One we need to meet with the most. Second, Jesus fell on His face, and prayed. It is impossible to overestimate the importance of prayer in the Christian life. We simply cannot experience a relationship with God without prayer, and Jesus shows us that it is indispensable when it comes to facing our fears. Last, He said, ". . . not as I will, but as You will." Christ's statement is an expression of His complete trust in His Father's loving wisdom, which would only allow Him to do what was right and best, and in His Father's ability to control all things.

The next time we're feeling fearful, we need to get alone with God. As we open our hearts in prayer to Him, we should remember that He is in complete control and that He will only allow what will ultimately be best for us.

THROUGH PRAYER YOU CAN TOUCH ONE ANOTHER:

When you want to win a soul to Jesus Christ. First you must have time to pray for that person so that the power of God may have already worked in that heart. God makes no distinction between time and space. Through prayer, you direct God's power to that person or to that area. Many people try to win others at random. You don't have much success in winning souls in this way. Through the cell system, the cell leaders always should point out one family, and concentrate their prayers on that particular family. I tell my cell groups. You only need to win one family in six months. So take about three months to pray for them. Every time you gather together, pinpoint that family, call their names out in prayer and direct God's power to that family. Usually, our cell leaders go to that particular home and lay hands on the outside wall of the house, and pray, calling out the names of the persons in that household. After three months of praying, when they visit that home, they have already been broken by the Holy Spirit, and easily accept Christ in to their hearts. So through prayer, you bring the power of God down to a specific person or to a specific area. You break the power of Satan. Before you bind the strong man, you are unable to steal his possessions. The devil is a strong man and can hold the people. So, if you, through prayer, bind the strong man, then you can go and deliver the people from his clutch.

Prayer is very necessary for evangelism. Many people try to program evangelism. They try to make it successful through their programs. That is a very foolish thing to do. We are not fighting against blood and flesh. We are fighting against spirits. So, if you pray a vague prayer you will have no power. You should have a pin-pointed prayer. When we have prayer in the Olympic Stadium, I always give the subject of prayer: Let us pray for yourself, your family, your church, your nation, your President, reunification, etc. All of these are specific goals. Then God's power will come down and destroy Satan and deliver. But if you just say, "Oh, God, bless us," vaguely, how can God bless you? There are 7,000 promises in the Bible. Which one do you want Him to use? Many people have vague faith because they do not have clear-cut goals. Faith is the substance of things hoped for. Faith is the substance of things. If you don't say clear things, then faith cannot have clear-cut substance. Many people pray very vague prayers. So, they receive a vague answer. If you pray for a clear goal, you will have a clear answer. You cannot have powerful cutting faith without having a clear goal.

For a long time I prayed a vague prayer. "Oh, God, bless our nation. "What kind of blessing? It is so vague. "Oh God, bless my life." How do you want Him to bless you? Healing, spiritual blessing? You must make your goal very clear. "Father, bless this, this, this." That is the reason that Jesus always asked a sharp question when the people came to Him. "Son of David, help me." Jesus asked, "What do you want me to do for you?" Blind Bartimaeus came to Jesus. Jesus knew that he was blind. Still, Jesus wanted to make it very clear. "What do you want me to do?" "Sir I want to see." May it be according to your faith." Jesus always wanted people to be clear about their goal so that they would have clear faith. So when you pray, make it very clear what you want. You must make your goal very clear, very definite, so that God's power may be directed toward that goal. God's power can be like a magnifying glass.

Concentrate on one point and you can burn that point. But if you just pray all over the world, nothing to be burned. You can bring God's power down through prayer to the specific goal. Make it very specific when you pray. Keep on pounding on that point. Many people try to use beautiful language in their prayers. You don't need to have beautiful language. Just keep praying on one point. Think of the man whose friends came to his house in the middle of the night and he had no bread to give them. He went to his neighbor and said, "Please give me some bread, three loaves of bread so that I may feed my friends who came in the evening. The friend said, "Oh, I and my children have already retired. Come tomorrow. I am not ready to rise up and give you bread." What did his friend say? Did he use all kinds of flowery words? No, the friend only spoke in one shrieking voice, "Give me bread! Give me bread! Give me bread!" He did not need any flowery words. He was knocking and pounding upon the door saying the same words over and over. His friend in bed was so harassed that he said, "I would never give you bread because you are my friend, but you are harassing me so much that I will give you some bread to get rid of you."

When you pray effectively, you just pound on one point with one phrase over and over again. If you just repeat, then you will lose power. Concentrate with one simple sentence on that point, then you can break the power of Satan.

No Easy Way To Pray

It is very hard to get a big crowd to sit down and pray for one hour. If you don't know how to lead people, then after people pray for 15-20 minutes, they won't pray anymore. They become jittery and stand up and leave. To keep people praying for hours and hours, you must know how to lead them to pray for hours.

God has shown me many ways of prayer. For example: The Temple prayer, The Lord's prayer, The Tabernacle prayer, The Praise Prayer, and Prayer at random. If you don't develop a real method of prayer, then you yourself are unable to pray more than 30 minutes. If you just pray causally, then after a little while you become tired and can't think of anything else to pray about.

Before I taught the prayer methods, I took the brethren who came from foreign countries to the C.G.I. Conference, to Prayer Mountain and said to them, "Let us pray for one hour beginning now." After about 20 minutes of novelty praying, they would sit down on the ground and repeat the word "Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!" That was all. This is not real praying This is the reason I want to teach you how to pray more than one hour.

We should pray at least one hour. On the mount of Gethsemane when Jesus came to His disciple, they were asleep. He said, "Can't you stay awake one hour and pray with Me? Pray so that you will not fall into temptation." The least time of prayer that you need to pray in order to conquer the devil is to pray for one hour. Personally, when I pray for a while, then look at my watch, I see that I have been praying for one hour. When I have prayed for one hour. Something "clicks", and I break the barrier and enter into the spiritual realm.

For one hour I am fighting in my spirit. I try to concentrate, but my flesh fights me. The devil fights me. So, I have to fight back. After one hour I feel something click and feel so powerful in my praying. This always happens after one hour of praying. I am now able to go beyond the barrier of the hindrances of Satan. Every day we need to pray more than hour. I will tell you how to pray at least one hour and how to lead your people to pray more than one hour. This is very important and meaningful. Many people have asked me why I pray so much. Throughout every day I pray, but make definite times of prayer:

ONE HOUR IN THE MORNING
ONE HOUR IN THE AFTERNOON
ONE HOUR IN THE EVENING

I make it a point to pray three times a day. When I go out on evangelistic tours, then I always spend the afternoon in prayer. After lunch I do not have any engagement, I stay in my hotel and pray three to five hours. So, when people ask me why I pray so much, I respond in this way. I PRAY BECAUSE GOD WANTS ME TO.

God has a great need in Himself. God is the Almighty God, but still God is love. Love has a desire to have fellowship. When you love your husband or wife, you should have fellowship together. You should like to talk with each other. But when love cools off, then you don't want to talk with one another. That is the measure of your love. When you love your friend a lot, then you want to have fellowship with your friend. My best friend in Korea is a Baptist minister named Billy Kim. He and I are, very, very good friends. That is the reason we want to have fellowship. We call one another every day and discuss politics, churches, etc. We are always helping each other.

God is the Almighty God, the eternal God, so He has eternal love. That love is a bottomless desire to have fellowship. He only created you and me so that we could have fellowship with Him. God Himself does not need anything except fellowship. He has a great need to have fellowship with us. Many times we Christians are so busy doing God's work that we have no time to have fellowship with him. Ministry unto the Lord must come before ministry unto the people. You must serve God first, and afterwards serve the people. When I was a young married man, I was always arguing with my wife about this point, I would come home from evangelistic meetings really tired and would always want to talk with my wife to relieve my tension. But, she would be busy cleaning the kitchen, doing the laundry, or other household chores. I would say, "Honey, let's talk, Let's have fellowship." She answered, "You go on ahead and sleep. I have so many things to do in the kitchen that I must get done."

One day I really exploded. I said, "What is more important to you: ME OR YOUR WORK?" She became angry and said, "I am doing all of these things for you. This is Your work ....cleaning the house, taking care of the children. Why are you harassing me about it?" I said, "I don't need my work. Leave it. Leave the laundry piled up. Don't clean the kitchen. I want you to take care of me first, not my work. I need fellowship with you. I am tired and feel empty in my heart. I pour out my heart all day long to others. I need you now. I need your fellowship. I need prayer together with you, Bible study with you, but you are always so heavily involved in household chores and leave me alone. I will not come home any more. I would rather sleep in the church. Why should I come home if I can't have fellowship with you?"

Throughout our young married life, she could not understand this fact. Now that our children have all left home, and we are left alone, she is always the one who wants me to have fellowship with her, but I answer her, " Honey, I am very busy. I have to do this or that. You go ahead and sleep while I finish my work." She responded in this way, "Why do you leave me alone so much? Why did you marry me? When I tell her I am busy, she said, "Am I not first in your life?"

Situations are like that. Even in marriage, you must put your partner first. If you put your work first and your partner second, then the fellowship will be broken and things will happen in a bad way. Likewise in God's work we are very busy. We have this prayer meeting, or that Bible study, or this teachers,' meeting, or that counseling meeting, and we should visit homes. Consequently, we are so busy that we have no time to pray to the lord, We just say, "Father, I am so busy because of Your work that I have no time to talk with you." God is grieved at these kinds of situations. You must take the time to pray to the Lord, even though you neglect the work of God. It is essential that you first serve God in prayer.

In 1964, when I had 3,000 members, people were requiring so much of my time. They wanted me to give even more time to counseling, more time to prayer and more time for visitation. Therefore I had no time to pray before the Lord. I had no time to read the scripture, meditate upon it, and talk to God. I was at a crossroads. Should I serve the people ahead of God, or should I sacrifice the people and serve God first?

As I considered the situation very carefully, I decided to put God first. I would take time enough to serve God first. Many people questioned me saying, "If you don't take care of us and give us more time, we are going to leave your church." I said, "Go ahead and leave because I am called to serve God first, then you. I have never been called to serve people first. If you want to leave, go ahead."

So, I took enough time to study, pray and meditate. After satisfying God, then I would serve the people. What power I had in my life because of my decision to put God's need first. Rather than leave my church, these people brought others to the church because I ministered to them with the power of God. I was not ministering to them with human power. If you have power with God, naturally you will have power with the people. Take ample time to serve God. In the Antioch church, Paul, Barnabas and others were fasting, praying and serving the lord, not serving the people. The Bible says so clearly that they were serving the lord. Then the Holy Spirit said, "Choose Paul and Barnabas for My work." When you really serve God, then you are going to hear God's words.

Many great things are happening at our church because of prayer. So you must keep on praying so that you will be equipped to fight Satan in your life and your ministry. THE HAND OF GOD IS MOVED THROUGH PRAYER When you move the hand of God, then God moves in your life and in your circumstances. In 1987, Korea had a national presidential election. Before the election, there was a great turmoil in Korea. There was labor unrest, student riots and demonstrations.

One day the Prime Minister asked me to have dinner with him. He was trembling as he said, "Pastor, I cannot handle these riots. The whole country is in an uproar. The unrest of the labor, the students, the Communists from North Korea are instigating the people constantly. Now we are unable to have a peaceful election. I cannot even use the army because if they come out, then that will be the sign for the communistic people to rise up and agitate people all the more. I do not know how to solve this problem." I said, "Mr. Prime Minister, I will do my best to help the situation. We will see how God helps." I announced to my people that we would have a great prayer meeting at Yoido Plaza. I will gather together at least 800,000 people totally mobilizing all our Christian plus more to have a prayer meeting for the peaceful election of the President of Korea. We had one month to prepare for this Prayer Rally. I announced to my people that the communist-inspired people were very angry at me and said, "We will kill you and your family." They were so ugly that I moved my wife and children to America, and I could not go home. I stayed in the church. My Christians were surrounding me. I was living in the church day and night. The telephones were constantly ringing and intimidating me.

The time arrived for this big prayer rally. On Yoido Plaza, all the people would be exposed to the snipers. From my office, I called my parents saying, "Daddy, today I will go to heaven before you because the snipers are going to shoot at me, and there is no defense. If I die ahead of you, think that I have died for God and for my nation." I wrote my last will to my family, and the people gathered together on the plaza, all 800,000 people.

Surrounded by people, I moved to the platform on the plaza. It was a very eerie feeling. I asked the people to pray for our nation. They responded beautifully. Three thousand communistic student demonstrators were positioned to disturb us, but they were stopped. They could not approach us because of the vast crowd and the fervent prayer. After the prayer, the Spirit spoke to my heart saying, "Make a demonstration throughout the city." Usually you can't have that kind of a parade without getting permission from the government. But I said to myself, permission or no permission, we are going to do it because I had received permission from the Lord. I announced my decision to the people. My elders said, "Pastor, please do not do this because from the top of the buildings, the snipers can shoot at us." But I told them that I had prayed and that they did not know that we were prepared for this. If the snipers had known of our plans ahead of time, they could have arranged to be in strategic places, but they had no knowledge of what we were going to do. So, with all kinds of slogans and flags, we marched through the city. When the marchers arrived at Seoul City Hall, still there were people on the Plaza. It was such a long line. The parade was televised all over the country, the newspaper wrote about it. The next day, all the riots stopped.

God's power came down and a very peaceful presidential election was held. The new President was so happy. He really treated me nicely. In 1988, Korea was scheduled to hold the Summer Olympic Games. Once again the nation was in trouble. North Korea was very angry. North Korea said, "There is internal division in the country." So every day they spoke against the Olympics through the radio and propagandized South Korea. They sent hundreds of spies to South Korea to agitate the students saying, "There is internal division in the country. This is the plan of the American imperialists. This is the plan of the European imperialists. So you should destroy this idea." This time it was even worse than the presidential election. Every day there were burnings. Finally, Mr. Samaranch, president of the Olympic Committee came to Korea and said that should move the games from Korea to another place because it was too dangerous for the athletes and the spectators. The President of Korea asked me to come to his palace. He said, "Nobody can handle this situation, but when I was ready to be elected President, you helped me, so please help our country now."

Once again, I announced a mass rally. I said, "We will pray for peace at the Olympic Games," This time 600,000 people gathered together at Yoido Plaza and prayed. Through our fervent prayers, all the riots suddenly stopped. As you remember, we had a wonderful Olympic games in 1988. There was no shooting, no trouble at all. It was amazing. When you pray, you can move the hand of God, If you don't pray, God will not intervene. God is only intervening in human affairs through your prayers. Whether your problem is big or small, you must pray. By an eternal miracle, God will intervene and solve the problem. Many people instead of resorting to prayer try to solve problems by their own human effort. They get hurt and become a hindrance to God's program.
